OVER/UNDER 2.5 GOALS HELP
How do I place an over 2.5 bet on KickOff?
It’s easy. If you want to bet that a game will feature over 2.5 goals, simply click the odds in the “OVER 2.5” column. If you want to bet the game will finish with under 2.5 goals, click the odds in the “UNDER 2.5” column.
To place the bet with a bookmaker, click “view betslip” on mobile and then select choose which bookmaker you’d like to place the bet with - they’ll appear in order of the best odds for your selection.
If you want to save the tip to KickOff without placing it with a bookmaker click the icon next to the KickOff logo. If you do this your bet will still be counted towards your KickOff profit totals and any competitions on KickOff, including the top over/under 2.5 goals leaderboard.
What stats does KickOff have for the under and over 2.5 goals markets?
Form
This tab shows you the average number of goals each team has scored and conceded per game over their last 20 matches in the relevant competition. The default display shows the home team’s last 20 at home and the away team’s last 20 away. To see stats for each team’s last 20 regardless of venue click “overall”.
xG and Stats
One way to predict how many goals there will be in a game is to add up how many a team usually concedes per game and how many they usually score, then add this to the number their opponent usually scores and concedes, and divide that number by 2.
You can use the xG stat in a similar way. xG shows how many goals a team might have been expected to score. If a team’s xG is lower than the number of goals they’ve actually scored it might suggest they’ve been lucky or have an excellent finisher (although very few players and teams exceed their xG over long periods of time). Therefore if you add the two team’s xG together you will get an idea of how many chances and of what quality are likely to be created in the game, and how many goals this is likely to result in.
If the xG is higher than the figure you calculated using actual goals conceded then it could suggest there is value in this over 2.5 goals bet.
Over/Under 2.5 goals League table
What does the League Table show?
The over/under 2.5 goals league table shows the results of both teams playing in the selected match against every other team in the league. They are colour coded by whether the match finished with over 2.5 goals or not. Light green squares show matches which finished with over 2.5 goals and darker squares show matches which finished with under 2.5 goals. Light grey squares show fixtures which have not yet been played, with the date of that fixture shown as well.
On the left, you can see the results of the home team, and on the right, the results of the away team. The home team’s results are in turn split into two columns, for their home and away results*.
*In some leagues, such as the SPFL, there are 4 columns because teams play each other more than twice in a single season.
How do I use the League Table?
The over/under 2.5 goals results table is a great way to find patterns and gain an edge when finding an over 2.5 goals tip or placing an under 2.5 goals accumulator. You might see that although a team’s averages for goals scored and conceded are quite high their matches against teams in the top 6 usually result in under 2.5 goals. This would show up visually on the league table as a lot of lighter green squares towards the bottom half of the table and darker squares towards the top.
There could be many reasons for this difference, such as the team setting up defensively to try to get a point against a rival or that there is more pressure on these games leading to more cautious play or striker’s missing chances. Either way, this information will help you make better over 2.5 goals tips and build better accumulators.
What is the over 2.5 goals Pro Menu and how do I use it?
The Pro Menu is available to Pro users for just £5 per month. With it you can easily sort all matches either by how likely it is there will be over 2.5 goals or how likely it is there will be under 2.5 goals. This is a great way to start building your accumulator, you can then use the other information to decide which of the matches you’d like to include in your bet. The Pro Menu also allows you to filter matches to show only those where a team has had:
- More than 5 consecutive games with over 2.5 goals
- More than 5 straight games with under 2.5 goals
- More than 5 games without scoring more than 1 goal (this is useful because for there to be over 2.5 goals in a match at least one of the teams will have to score twice)
- More than 5 games without conceding more than 1 goal
