What is an over/under 5.5 goals bet?
An over 5.5 goals bet is a bet that there will be at least 6 goals in a match. An under 5.5 goals bet means you’re predicting that there will be a maximum of 5 goals in the match. Football matches with 6 or more goals are pretty rare - scorelines such as 3-3, 4-2, 5-1 or 6-0 don’t come around very often.
How do I place an over/under 5.5 goals bet on KickOff?
Placing an over/under 5.5 goals bet on KickOff is simple. First, decide on the match you’d like to bet on. Then if you want to take the over click the odds under the “OVER” column, and if you want to take the under click the odds under the “UNDER’ column.

What stats does KickOff offer for this market?
We’ve got form stats, xG and previous head-to-head results - all of these are pretty easy to use and understand. But we also have a league table, exclusive to KickOff, which might need a bit of explaining. It shows a team’s previous results against all other teams in the league - and the results are colour coded by whether or not the match finished with over or under 5.5 goals. For matches with under 5.5 goals the square is coloured dark blue and for over they’re green.
This lets you see patterns such as whether a team that usually plays very defensively and so doesn’t score or concede that many (so their matches usually finish with under 5.5 goals) completely falls apart against teams at the top of the division and so these matches have a better chance of finishing with over 5.5 goals. The bookmakers might not have priced this into their odds so there could be value to be found in this bet, even if it is still unlikely to win.
